A friend that I'm not really very close with at all- okay, an acquaintance- told me the other day that I'm really special. (Not in a retarded way). It made me really happy/ a little sad, because nobody close to me has told me that in a while.
Based on how hard your parents pushed you and how hard you push yourself--and how you can actually appreciate what they did, I would say that you are probably one of the strongest-spirited people I know. If that fact alone doesn't make you special, it means you'll drive right through this rough patch like a train. With a big caboose.
